This course is designed to introduce Probationer Constables of the Jamaica Constabulary Force assigned to the Community Safety and Security Branch, who will serve as School Resource Officers, to the Ministry of Education and Youth Safe Schools security policies and procedures. The course focuses specifically on the MOEY Security Policies and Guidelines for promoting a culture of safety and security in Safe Schools. It covers the underlying concepts of standards, policies and procedures that provide guidance for School Resource Officers' knowledge acquisition, interpretation and execution of duties. These areas include conducting searches, applying sanctions, managing critical incidents, establishing Police Youth Clubs and networking with stakeholders to promote a culture of safety and security in the MOEY Safe Schools across Jamaica.
