The Advanced Diploma in Command, Leadership and Management (Command Programme) was designed for law enforcement officers who are managers here in Jamaica and across the Caribbean. Over the years, its focus has reflected the evolving training needs of these officers and the competencies required for the core policing areas of crime, police administration, and operations. The NPCJ expects all participants to leave this programme with refined leadership competencies, an understanding of how to formulate management strategies, and strategic approaches to delivering professional police services in the communities they police.
This programme seeks to develop synergy among the content, learning outcomes, competencies, and assessments. The intention is to have a process that progressively assesses participants throughout the programme, providing them with various opportunities to learn and demonstrate that learning. This allows developmental feedback to be provided to participants, facilitating adjustment and growth as the programme unfolds.
