Why This Matters

There have been occasions where members unintentionally continued recording after an incident because they believed the recording had already stopped. This resulted in personal conversations being captured and unnecessary footage being created.

In other situations, members realised the camera was still recording only after hearing the recording reminder tone and attempted to cover or obstruct the camera lens. Such actions may compromise evidence, reduce public confidence, and raise concerns regarding transparency and accountability.

These situations can often be prevented by simply knowing the camera's current state.
