BWC Transformation Timeline

JCF Body-Worn Camera Operational Training

How to Use This Interactive Timeline

Step through the history of body-worn camera policy in the JCF, from 1990 to 2026.

What's on the timeline

1990–2016 Traditional Policing
2016–2017 Introduction of Body-Worn Cameras
2021 Revised BWC Policy
2025 Strengthening the Programme (Force Orders No. 4070 – Revision #3)
2026 Body-Worn Cameras in Daily Operations

Step by step

1
Start at the beginning. The timeline opens on the earliest entry — 1990–2017: Traditional Policing. Read it before moving on.
2
Move forward using the next arrow (or by clicking the next date on the navigation strip). Step through each entry in order: 1990–2016, 2016–2017, 2021, 2025, then 2026.
3
Use the previous arrow any time you want to go back and re-read an earlier entry — there's no penalty for moving back and forth.
4
You can also jump straight to a date by clicking it in the navigation strip, instead of stepping through them one at a time.
Full screen and closing If you switch to full screen to read more comfortably, move your mouse (or tap, on a touchscreen) to the very top of the activity the ✕ close button will appear there. Click or tap it to exit full screen. On a computer, pressing Esc does the same thing. Clicking outside the timeline won't close full-screen mode.
Finishing upOnce you've reached the final entry (2026), you're done. This activity has no completion tracking switched on, so nothing marks itself as done automatically. Leave the page using Moodle's normal navigation, the course breadcrumb at the top of the page, or the "Back" arrow in the course menu rather than your browser's back button.
