To equip learners with the knowledge, practical skills and professional judgment required to understand and respond to the strategic environment in which Intelligence Branch operations are conducted, including the role of security intelligence, the application of personal security principles, the disciplined management of classified information and documents, and the monitoring of social, political and industrial developments that may affect public order, national stability and informed policing decisions.
