Foundations in Music
The Cadet Academy

This course is designed to stimulate an interest in the foundation of Music Theory and individual Practicianship, allowing students to explore, read and synthesize different musical topics in an attempt to develop skills in relation to music reading, writing and playing. 

The course will surround the concepts of Music Theory in relation to the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music (ABRSM) grades 1 to 3 syllabuses, and will facilitate a thorough understanding of music at the aforementioned levels with steady course assessments and evaluations, with a culminating examination at the end of the school year.


Course Purposes & Objectives

1. Cultivate curiosity by engaging with factual representations
2. Express complex ideas clearly and succinctly, both orally and in writing, and effectively conveying important ideas that are synonymous with success.
3. Form questions that will generate clear and thoughtful responses.

4. Engage students practically with defined practical examples using real world scenarios.
