Course Overview
This course is developed using the Jamaica Constabulary Force Management of Body-Worn Cameras Policy and Standard Operating Procedures contained in Force Orders Serial No. 4070 dated 2025-06-05. The programme is designed to ensure operational compliance, professionalism, accountability, evidentiary integrity, and proper management of Body-Worn Camera (BWC) systems within the Jamaica Constabulary Force.
The course aligns with the policy directive published for “general information and strict compliance” and reflects the operational standards established by the Jamaica Constabulary Force.
This self-paced course is designed to equip members of the Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF) with the knowledge, skills, attitudes, and professional standards required for the effective use of Body-Worn Cameras (BWCs) in policing operations. The course emphasizes accountability, transparency, officer safety, evidentiary integrity, professionalism, ethical conduct, and compliance with Jamaica’s legal and policy framework.
The course combines theoretical instruction, scenario-based learning, policy interpretation, practical application, and knowledge assessments. Participants will learn how to properly operate BWCs, manage digital evidence, interact professionally with the public while recording, and adhere to operational and legal standards governing the use of the technology.
